YMCA Canada

YMCA Canada fosters the development of strong member Associations and advocates on behalf of the 48 YMCAs and 13 YMCA-YWCAs at regional, national and international levels. Since 1918, YMCA Canada has been a convenor, broker, agent and voice on matters of national significance.

Today, YMCA Canada tracks trends and issues and keeps Associations briefed on relevant ones and mounts national campaigns and initiatives to broaden the public image of the YMCA to build stronger relationships with leaders in other sectors. YMCA Canada produces management and program resources for YMCA leaders, pilots innovative projects and initiatives which allows Associations to test new models or reach new groups of people and represents Associations on national coalitions and networks.

YMCA Canada also recognizes exemplary lifetime service to communities through the YMCA and administers national educational scholarships and honours long-serving employees. On the world stage, YMCA Canada represents Associations as a member of the World Alliance of YMCAs, it facilitates Association participation in world events and initiatives and fosters one-to-one partnerships between YMCAs in Canada and other countries for sharing resources and expertise.
