REPRINTING OR REPRODUCING ABUNDANT ASSETS or SEARCH INSTITUTE MATERIALS

The Alliance seeks to advance the efforts of local YMCAs and their constituents (youth and adult) to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities using the framework, philosophy and principles of developmental assets. With this in mind, we want local YMCAs to use and share broadly the ideas, language, resources and tools already in existence or being created through this partnership. Some resources are available on this site and can be downloaded and used at no cost. You can also purchase products to support your efforts through the YMCA Program Store Catalog 800-747-0089 or through the Search Institute web site. You'll find everything from awareness building posters and notecards to program implementation and community coalition building. If you are interested in adapting or reproducing any of the materials that the Alliance or Search Institute has created we ask you submit a permission request form (www.search-institute.org/permissions/prf.html). At this point, the Alliance is using the process currently outlined in the Search Institute permissions guidelines (www.search-institute.org). This easy to complete form should take about 5 minutes to complete and helps us understand how you intend to use the materials as well as determine if there needs to be a fee associated with use (a fee is sometimes charged if material is being used in a publication that will be sold). To date, local YMCAs have requested use of asset language for annual reports, marketing brochures, translation to other languages. We are excited to see the information spread and support the YMCA's positioning as a true champion on this work.
